The Infinito EQ is the electrified acoustic guitar with auditorium shape from "Made in Italy" series by Eko Guitars. It is made with solid Italian Spruce top, Okoumé back and sides with ETS (Eko Tone System) treatment, Okoumé neck and National Walnut fingerboard. It is amplified with Fishman Flex blend system that handles electric piezo and built-in condenser microphone, with controls for volume, mid-scooped eq, mic blend, phase inversion and display tuner. A professional instrument, built with the best materials and giving the guitarist great tone and volume, even when amplified on stage.
INFINITO EQ BY EKO GUITARS OVERVIEW
The Eko Infinito represents the R&D (research and development) "laboratory" that contains interesting innovations from a lutheristic point of view.
It features a top made of Genuine Italian Spruce from the Alps, a wood also used for the internal chaining of both top and back, fingerboard and bridge made of National Walnut, a wood also used for making the rosette. The neck is made of Okoumè, a wood from the Mahogany family that is distinguished by its extreme lightness.
For the ribs and back, ETS (Eko Tone System) treated Okoumè was again chosen, which is also treated with anilines and special lamps to embellish and deepen the typical grain of this exotic wood, as well as to improve its bass response.
The varnishing of the entire instrument is done with a varnish produced a few miles from the Eko Guitars factory after careful research by the manufacturer's technicians in collaboration with luthier Roberto Fontanot: the result is an extremely durable but minimal-thickness finish, with an effect very close to open pore.
Important innovations that eliminate metal from the Infinito guitar: to ensure the absolute stability of the neck and fingerboard, 3 carbon fiber anti-torsion bars calibrated in different thicknesses are inserted; the nut and saddle are also made of carbon fiber. Carbon fiber was also used for the tuning machines, which with a very precise 21:1 ratio allow for careful tuning and the fantastic feeling of no added weight to the headstock. Suffice it to say that 6 tuning pegs weigh about the same as a standard metal tuning mechanism.
The Infinito guitar's Rosette is made with National Walnut and Mother of Pearl. With its weave, the connection between Eko and Recanati is recalled, as well as the symbol of infinity.
The Infinito Eq acoustic guitar features the Fishman Flex Blend preamplifier, the latest addition to Fishman's lineup, which is a perfect match for this guitar due to its elegant styling. In addition, the Fishman Flex's intuitive design makes it easy to find the sound you're looking for by blending the piezo and microphone signal and acting on the Tone control. The built-in tuner and phase control round out the features modern guitarists need.
In 2018, on the threshold of its 60th Anniversary, Eko Guitars returns to production in Italy by offering a Made in Italy instrument bearing the name "INFINITO": a tribute to the famous poem by Leopardi, also from Recanati.
This instrument introduces important elements of innovation for the Acoustic Guitar, and in addition to the sound and aesthetics, what is striking is the extreme lightness in terms of weight of the instrument sought through a careful selection of materials; lightness also understood as sobriety of aesthetics and typical Italian class. The research and treatment of materials, in order to contain the weight, goes all in favor of the sound that is "free," the instrument is devoid of metal parts that in addition to weight add sound dampening elements.
