Eko Guitars - Profumosa Made in Italy

The Profumosa - italian name that recalls the idea of scent, pleasant smell and perfume all at once - is an acoustic guitar born from the expert hands of EKO's luthiers. The shape is what we call 018 (OM).
This extraordinary acoustic instrument is also the source of the other instruments part of our current catalogue, they are all engineered by the core of our R&D, inside our workshop in italy, represented by our master luthier Roberto Fontanot and Massimo Varini, EKO Project Leader.
The top of the Profumosa is made with highly selected Valcanale spruce wood. Val Canale is a region of northern Italy, with a long tradition for liuthery wood. The temperature in this area remains low during the whole year, which allows, together with the soil condition, for a very stable and slow growth of the trees. All this makes the Valcanale wood very requested by the luthiers from everywhere in the world. The trees are selected by Roberto Fontanot personally and only cut once a concession is granted.

The back and sides are made of selected solid rosewood, the rosette with inlays, the fingerboard and the bridge are all made of ebony wood.
Extreme care has been used for the width at the nut which is 46mm and the length of the scale which is 646mm.
The painting is water-based Gloss finish, the benefits on sound and beauty are immediately perceived like the depth of the wood grain, but also offer the pleasure of smelling the scent of a handmade guitar, built with nature-friendly products.
An amplification system and carbon fiber machine heads complete this top level guitar which is supplied inside a very original and high quality EKO hard case, everything Made in Italy.
The preamp, produced by Heart Sound, is the Perlucens, a piezoelectric transducer which works together with an accelerometer / touch sensor, to ensure the highest sound quality.
The Carbon Fiber tuners are also produced by Heart Sound. They are extremely efficient, light and strong. Six of these have less weight than one traditional metal tuner, which makes the guitar become immediately extremely balanced.
The EKO case is at the same time a very robust case, a trolley to easily move the guitar around and also a very beautiful and functional guitar stand.
